Lance McGehee
RIP

It is with great sadness that the NTNOA has to announce the untimely death of one of our Members - Lance McGehee. Tragically, Lance, a member since 2018 was killed riding home from our Club Meeting on Sunday 29th, not far from home.

This hits very hard, as several of us were chatting with him at the meeting. Very sadly, Lance and his brother Donovan had only just lost their parents who passed away very recently - their Mother at Christmas and their Father only the day before. We talked about that and the hole it leaves; and then as so often happens with gearheads, the talk moved to cars (we both have sports cars although his is a lot nicer than mine) and then obviously motorcycles.

He talked enthusiastically about his Trophy which he rated really highly, and his 1996 Triumph Thunderbird which he was rebuilding. I latched onto that because I used to have a '95 so we talked about the dreaded alternator shaft and the sprag clutch woes. Then we said our goodbyes and headed out.

Please keep Lance in your thoughts and also Donovan who has lost both his parents and his brother in such a short space of time.

There was a joint service for Lance and his Father at First United Methodist Church in Rowlett on Thursday 16th February at 4pm. Ten club members rode to the funeral. to give our comrade and fellow Club Member Lance a good send off.

Please keep safe and rubber side down.
