For several decades the mention of a modern Norton has been a mixed bag of excitement, hope, disappointment, and even disgust (especially when pension-stealer Stuart Garner is involved), but now things may be looking up for the beleaguered brand. The acquisition of Norton by Indian motorcycle giant TVS has breathed new life in the company, and this week we have a track test of the revamped V4SV superbike along with news of a Commando 961 making its way to production. Are the troubles behind Norton? For now, it seems promising for those with deep pockets who can afford the V4SV, but for the rest it may be some time before a new Commando is available.
