2014 BMOA Rallye Recap
by VP Randy Bauer

For those who missed the BMOA Rallye, shame on you! This was right up there as one of the best ever. Plenty of RV spots with hook ups and water. There was tent camping with abundance of shade.

It was a pleasant site to see a younger group run the rallye this year. Jamie the new president, her hubby, Cory and the rest of the group did an exultant job. You would never have known it was their first time. Mike and Steve had it made this year; they didn't have to do the field events.

Robb Green and I got in to Look Out Point on the lake midafternoon Thursday. And we were far from the first there. Just like LOP you better get their early to get your spot. The weather was as perfect as you could ask for. It was a little windy but it kept the bugs away and it did not affect the riding. The nights were cool for us in the tent. Cool enough to not hear a bunch of generators running.

Our club turnout was slim but better than last year. Robb (on my Speed Triple), Jay, and Alton did the field events. And look at Alton! He won the 250cc and under drags.

There are plenty of restaurants in town and only about eight minutes away. Robb and I ate lunch Thursday at Mantey Country / Ricky’s Catering. They had a great buffet. They’re the ones who catered the food Saturday night. Friday we teamed up with the BMOA crew for dinner at Mama's Kitchen & Game Room. Great dinner and also good for breakfast.

Saturday night there was good food, a great band, and plenty of swag.

Sunday was the bike show. All bikes lined up along the shore line. Never seen that before, wonder where they got that idea from. My '71 Bonnie finally got a first place!

I can't thank BMOA and all the staff enough for a more perfect Rallye,

VP Randy
