Clay Walley
19 Mar 1953 - 18 Oct 2019

Tragically, an accident took the life of our most beloved member Friday night, Oct. 18th.
A motorcyclist for over 50 years and club president for 5 years, Clay will forever be missed
RIP our friend.

A tribute to Clay
By Dennis Tackett

Who will meet me at Big D every Saturday with a smile on his face and a 12 pack of Miller in his hand?
Who will meet me early at little house to help get ready for all our friends to arrive?
Who will show up with another hunk of skin cut off laughing about it?
Who will shake my hand with his one good arm while the other heals from multiple surgeries?
Who will ride with me at lightning speed to Hill Country?
Who will lead me on a Colorado ride dodging rain and lightning and arrive to a glass of fine whiskey?
Who will help at every club function and smile while we are doing it?
Who will stand beside me to hand out the trophies at LOP?
Most of all who will be there to be my best friend through thick and thin?
Clay you have been such a big part of my life. I will never forget you. I hope you are riding and waiting for us on the other side. Godspeed.

Sadly, Clay Walley, one of our longest standing and truly beloved club members and ex-President, has left his mortal coil far too soon, leaving a huge hole in our hearts.

Lots of people had a special bond with Clay, because of his warm, generous and gregarious personality and crazy sense of humor. He always welcomed new members into the club with open arms, a huge smile and his infectious laugh, immediately putting them at ease.

He was an enthusiastic positive force, always prepared to step up to help get things done. Generous to a fault, always thinking of other people, he would give you the shirt off his back, he had many charitable causes to which he donated, and he regularly supported small local businesses to promote their success.

But, most of all, we will remember Clay as an avid life-long motorcyclist, great friend, and a tough bad-ass rider, right up until the very end....nothing, but nothing, was going to stop him from riding his shiny new red Honda VFR.

Clay lived his life to the fullest, focusing on the experience of fresh air activities on his bikes, not only was he a manic motorhead, he was a very keen mountain bike and road cyclist.

Our sincere condolences go out to his surviving family members in California, his beloved daughter Michelle, two adored grand-daughters, Naudika and Nailiah, his sister Ma’lina and her wife, Vivien, his closest friend and ex-wife, Kathleen, and many, many friends across the USA and beyond.

During the 40th Annual Hansen Dam Ride hosted by the SoCal Norton guys, Alton brought a good portion of Clay’s ashes. We found a nice shade tree in the Hansen Dam Park and scattered some - right by where the SoCal guys set up their canopy. So he can be front and centre on the 41st and subsequent rides.

We didn’t have Miller High Life so we poured Shiner to water the ashes in. He’s complaining right now. ❤️
