My First Bike by Jack Hutcheson

My first motorcycle was a Kawasaki 350 A7SS that was not my only transportation, but seemed to be the way I got around most of the time.

After owning it for a few months and riding with friends to different places in Texas. A friend and I decided to ride from Dallas Texas to San Jose California. We took off from work and after some planning, headed out.

Me on the 350 A7SS and him on a SL 350. We went up thru Lubbock to Route 66 and west to Los Angeles. From there to San Jose. We took about 10 days stopping along the way Camping and staying with friends and family. While there he decided to get a job and stay there. (Sparing a lot of details)

This put me on the road back to Dallas. I left San Jose on a Thursday afternoon. Stopped for the night in Barstow, CA and Albuquerque, NM and rode into Dallas just before 10:00pm.

It was exciting at times but very grueling at times. Wasn’t sure if I would ride much after that.  After owning more than 40 motorcycles and going on many trips on some of them I Guess the first one didn’t hurt.
