Our January 2013 meeting was held at RPM Cycle on Sunday, 27 Jan.

Boris Loera, the General Manager for RPM Cycle opened the doors early so we could look around at their new Triumphs, Aprilias, KTMs and Moto Guzzi motorcycles.  There were a couple of examples of Triumph’s new Trophy and the 1200 Tiger Explorer.  Many members arrived early to look over the various bikes and socialize with fellow enthusiasts.

Chris Parry started the meeting thanking Alejandro Romero, the owner of RPM Cycle and Boris for hosting our meeting.  Chris recognized the new members present, Phil Coe, Ray Reid, George Kozak and Shaun Guy.

Dennis Tackett introduced Ryan Ambrose and outlined his upcoming racing on a Triumph Dayton 675 provided by RPM Cycle.  Dennis pointed out that the NTNOA is Ryan's primary sponsor.  Ryan thanked the club for its support and said his largest expense is tires which cost about $1,000 per race weekend.  A collection was taken up to help defray some of Ryan's racing expenses.

Chris announced that this will be his last year as club president.  Richard Asprey also made it known that this is his last year as Rallye Chairman.  Dennis said he is a volunteer to be the Rallye Chairmen for the 2014 rallye which will be the club's 30th Lake O’ the Pines Rallye.

The next order of business was a discussion of the Spring Hill Country ride which is April 11 thru 14, Thursday to Sunday.  The venue remains the same as last year, the British Motorcycle Owners Association (BMOA) and Lone Star Vincent Owners Club (VOC) will again attend.  A few members of the Southern California Norton Owners Club (SCNOC) will also attend.  Richard has booked all the rooms at the D' Rose Inn and the Frio Springs.  Mike Mediterraneo our Membership Coordinator is handling the accommodations.  Mike is reserving the same rooms for the same people as last year.  If you were there last year please contact Mike at Mike@ntnoa.org and let him know if you plan on going or not.   Contact Mike also if you weren't there last year but would like accommodations.

The following weekend is the MotoGP race at the Circuit of Americas in Austin.  Richard Asprey obtained a number of three day reserved tickets in turn 5.  Mike is coordinating the sale of those thickets and handling the seating arrangements.  Price is $160 for the three day ticket.  If interested in purchasing a three day ticket contact Mike.

Phil Dansby announced there will be a "Celebration of Life" tribute to Joe Edwards at Up N Smoke BBQ on Sunday, 10 March, from 11AM to 2PM.  There will be more information about the tribute on the homepage in March.  More about Joe can be found here.

The 50/50 drawing was won by Mike Brown after which Chris adjourned the meeting.

Our next meeting is at Pappas Bar-B-Q on Sunday, 24 February.
