Our January 2019 Club Meeting was Sunday, January 27th at Pappas Bar-B-Q.

2231 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas

Once again just like the last 16 years our January Meeting was at Pappas Bar-B-Q. And just like the last couple of years the weather was perfect with blue skies, no wind and temps in the '60's. As a result of the great weather most members and guests rode and arrived early to socialize and look over the vast variety of new and old motorbikes.

Wendy Griffiths set a milestone as she was able to kick start her '79 Triumph Bonneville for the first time after some coaching from our VP, Ryan Ambrose. Wendy’s Bonneville was last year's raffle bike that she won at the Land O’ the Pines Rallye.

Rallye Chairman, Dennis Tackett started the meeting as our President, Richard Asprey was returning from Las Vegas after attending the Bonhams and Mecum motorcycle auctions.

The first order of business was the introduction of new members and quests followed by old business including our showing at the Int’l Motorcycle Show which was the first weekend in January. Many thanks to Randy Bauer for once again managing our display, finding club members to show their vintage motorcycles and working closely with the show promoters to ensure a successful exhibit. Incredibly, this was Randy’s 8th consecutive year organizing and managing our display. In addition, Randy spent many hours every day at the show promoting our club and helping sell raffle bike tickets. This was Randy last year running the show and is looking for a few members to take over the position.

Our February meeting is at Audrey’s Moto Liberty on Sunday, Feb. 24th. Our meetings at Moto Liberty have always been well attended. Audrey announced that if the weather is suitable for riding, she plans on having a band that will start immediately after our meeting.

Our annual Spring Hill Country Ride is set for Thursday, April 25th through Sunday, April 28th. In the coming weeks our Treasurer Michael Mediterraneo will be handling room accommodations at the Historic Leakey Inn.

Mark your calendar for this year’s Land O’ the Pines Rallye which is Thursday, September 26th to Sunday the 29th at Diamond Don’s Campground.

The meeting was adjourned and many rode directly to the Dubliner Irish Pub on Greenville Ave.
