The NTNOA's May Club Meeting
was Sunday, 31 May, 2009 at 2:00 PM
at
Hard Eight Barbecue

This meeting was our first at Hard Eight Barbecue.  As promised they provided an exclusive area for our bikes and for our meeting.  The club will most definitely have more meetings at the Hard Eight.

Clay Walley called the meeting to order at the prescribed two o'clock hour.  Dennis Tackett briefed us on the current status of our LOP raffle bike.  As of Saturday, 30 May the '70 Commando is fully functional with a new paint job and exhaust system.  It is now ready for the street.  Not surprisingly it idles like a dream thanks to the single Mikuni carburetor.

Dennis sold raffle bike tickets at both the All British Car Day and the British Emporium Car & Bike Show which proved very successful.  Many thanks to Dennis for trailering the bike to these events.

Chris Parry, our VP is off to the Isle of Man on Monday to witness firsthand the TT races.  Thanks to Chris the NTNOA has a PayPal account.  People can now pay the LOP registration fee online using their PayPal, Visa, Discovery, American Express or MasterCard account.  Paying dues and ordering Raffle bike tickets online will soon be possible.

Clay announced that the Capt. Commando Invitational Spring Hill Country Ride has been moved for the first time in four years from the River Inn Resort outside of Hunt to Leakey.  The NTNOA has reserved the entire complex and will have exclusive use of all the facilities at the "D'Rose Inn and Cabins" between 15 - 18 April (Thursday thru Sunday).  More information can be found at here.  You should beat the rush and make your reservations now.

Clay announced that there will be a complete turn over of club officers for next year.  Nominations for president, VP, Rallye Chairman, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor and Webmaster are due in November and elections will be held at our December Club Meeting/Dinner Party.  Clay is finishing his fifth consecutive year as our President and this will be Dennis' fifth year as our Rally Chairman.  It is now time for others to step up and take charge.  All the current club officers have offered to help their replacements anyway they can.

Our June Club Meeting is scheduled for 28 June at Tony & Martha's EuroSport Cycle dealership.

Last but not least Clay announced that our annual club dues will be going up for the first time in 25 years after this year's renewal in August.  This August will be our last chance to renew for $15.  Allowing for a one month grace period, effective October 2010 the annual dues will be $25.
