Meeting on Sunday, October 29 at Jeff Myers’ Residence in Midlothian, TX

Our October, 2023 meeting was a “Shoptoberfest” at Jeff Myers’ residence in Midlothian. Jeff and his better half, Pari, put on a great show. We were treated to brats, pretzels, beer cheese dip, sauerkraut, washed down with German beer. The highlight of the show though was the live music from the Ennis Czech Boys polka band. They were great, and there was dancing!

Even the weather was like the Bavarian Alps – chilly and damp, but we all fitted comfortably, with the band, in Jeff’s large workshop. We also enjoyed checking out Jeff’s motorcycle collection – some very cool machines! The weather did put a damper on those biking to the meeting, and a big shout out to Rich Simmons who was the one and only rider! Personally, I found that holding a warm pretzel in each hand kept me toasty, and hopefully Rich had pretzels in his pockets for the ride home!

Richard Bowman was the MC for the meeting, and after thanking our hosts Jeff and Pari, and of course the Ennis Czech Boys, we talked about the last big club event which was the LOP Rallye at Yellow Rose Canyon at the end of September. Richard reported that the Rallye had been a success, and very well received. He asked anyone who still had feedback about things which worked well, and things which could be improved at the next Rallye, to send it to ntnoa@ntnoa.org. We’ll be back again at the Yellow Rose Canyon in 2024 for our 40th Anniversary Rallye!

The next club meeting will be on November 26th at Pappas Bar-B-Q. The club Christmas Party will be at the Spirit Grille in Las Colinas on December 2nd. An Evite will be sent out.

Congratulations to Carmine LiDestri who was the lucky 50/50 winner!

Richard Bowman
