The 2016 Harvest Classic Rallye Made Great Again
Thanks to no rain this year the rally was epic. It started off a little shaky with the rain in Dallas. Robb Green and I got a late start. We left about 10:00 AM on Thursday and that worked out good
because we both went to Wednesday Dallas Bike Night then we picked up Robb's bike from getting serviced and a rear tire at 12:00 AM.
We had lunch in Hico then hit FM 2005 which is a fantastic road with wide sweepers. Ended up on 16 and took a detour to the Regency Bridge. Two years ago it was under repair. Check out my pictures from then. They did a
great job. It is a really cool suspension bridge high over the Colorado River, worth the ride.
After a nice day and evening in Fredericksburg we headed to the Rally and set up camp in our usual spot. Friday night we hung out with Shawn Henry and Brett Lemmons. We all froze that night.
Saturday weather was great just not warm enough for the women to wear skimpy clothes, darn! There were lots of great bikes in the show and always plenty of cool bikes in the parking lot. They finally have nice bathrooms
with more pissers.
This year we had a great showing from our club. Walking around I saw John Cartwright, Houston Matlock, Dickey Hunter, Don Tarvin, Bob Speer, Carrie & Greg Spivey and Phil Dansby. Former members Marq Jones, Ray Donaldson who ran his
trials Montesa and Dave Edinger were also there.
Almost made it home, coming into Hamilton we got stopped. 85 in a 70. Back home with 676 miles and a sore butt, thanks Speed Triple.
