In getting ready for the Freeze Follies Ride for the cure (49 at departure) I joined the Lone Star BMW Annual hamburger ride to OK. Departed 0800L hrs last Saturday from Frisco and went on some great roads winding up to Turner Falls, Arbuckle Fried Pies, and Chickasaw Bromide State Park in Sulfur, Ok. Total mileage 350 miles and who should I meet but Joe Tokarz, one of our best past presidents ridding his BMW trike. He is shown reattaching a bracket on his bike which he claimed was a “chick magnet.” See what happens when a member wanders off from our protective arms? Joe is an excellent restorer, humorist author, and a man of many other talents. Latest project is a 1972 Guzzi police bike.

These riders have some good rides and tech meetings. There are mostly BMWs as you expect but a few orphans also run with them. They have a web site at http://www.lonestarbmwriders.org
