The AMCA National Rally in Kerrville

The AMCA (Antique Motorcycle Club of America} road run is a national meet. It was put on April 13th through the 16th in Kerrville TX by the Cherokee Chapter. Very organized and professionally done.

We stayed at the YO Ranch in Kerrville. Sunday evening was check in and the riders meeting. Dave Edinger, Clay Walley, and I road together the first two days.

Monday we rode around almost to Luckenbach and then back to the YO Ranch.

What great roads, some I haven't ridden before. Tuesday started off on Hwy 16 to 337 with a stop in Leakey, then to 335 to 41 to 1340 to 39 through Hunt then 27 to 16 and back.

Wednesday was a ride to Tarpley, Utopia, Vanderpool, Hunt and back.

I had a brain fart on the reservations and didn't book for Wednesday night and Cathy had to get back to work anyway. Dave road his newly acquired '83 Shovel Head that's been marking it's spot in my garage for a couple of months. Clay road his '66 Harley, and I road my ‘71 Bonneville. That was the first day.

Day two we shamed Dave for being so slow on his new ride. So he tried to get his Moto Guzzi running after sitting for a year, no luck. He unloaded his Duck and caught up with us at a gas and drink stop.

The Cherokee Chapter rented a van for the females. Great ideal, we should do this for LOP. They went on a site seeing tour by Joan Klein to Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, Kerrville Hills Winery for tasting, James Avery Jewelery Headquarters for a tour, Schreiner Mansion, and a spa day. Thanks, Joan.

A lot of the guys were using this event for a practice run for the Cannon Ball Run. Man those bikes can fly down the road for as old as they are. They were doing 50 to 55 cruising, not bad for early nineteen hundreds vintage bikes.
