2014 August Club Meeting

Our August club meeting was at RPM Cycle on 31 Aug.

RPM Cycle has two large showrooms. One is for full of Honda’s (but no Groms) while the other is for Triumphs, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi & KTMs. Boris took the day off but Assistant Manager Dave Cannella was kind enough to open up the dealership for our meeting. The wide inventory of new bikes is especially impressive.

There was a wide assortment of motorcycles in the parking lot as most members rode to the meeting. The turnout was better than average despite having a few key members absent. Richard Asprey along with Chris Parry, Dennis Tackett and Mike Mediterraneo just finished riding their vintage Brit bikes from Tacoma, WA to just north of Los Angeles. Yesterday Chris Parry flew to the UK to watch todays MotoGP race at Silverstone.

Club president Clay Walley started the meeting at 2PM. Clay reminded everyone that our 30th Annual Lake O’ the Pines Rallye is only a month away. Anyone can pre-register and save $5 by registering online on the club website or by registering at our next meeting at Big D Cycle on Sunday, September 21st. The meeting is a week early so as not to conflict with the rallye.

Ryan Ambrose gave a recap of this recent racing accomplishments and Clay passed a hot in support of Ryan’s racing.

Representative from the Eyes on Bikes Rally briefed us on their upcoming rally. It is a cherity ride from Adam Smith Harley to Bronson Rock in Keller. It starts at 1pm on Sunday, September 28.
