Our January 2022 Club Meeting is Sunday, January
30th at Pappas Bar-B-Q.
Our twentieth
January meeting at Pappas Bar-B-Q didn't disappoint with over sixty members
present and fifty-one motorcycles ridden to the meeting. The beautiful weather
with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70's that we have come to expect at
our January meetings contributed to the large turnout.
Our VP, Ed Sass started the meeting at 2pm with the introduction of guests and
new members and what bikes they ride. Old business was discussed next along with
the extended club event listing that the executive committee made for the entire
2022 year.
Our Treasurer, Jane West mentioned that there are still a few members who need
to pay their dues. Enough said.
Our MC, Dennis Tackett announced the passing of our dear friend James (Bevo)
Bowen. Bev as most of us knew him was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer
years ago. Bev fought it and about two years ago the doctors thought he had
defeated the disease. Tragically, it recently returned and he passed away on
Thursday, Jan. 27th. Dennis asked to raise a glass in remembrance of Bev.
Stanley Miller mentioned that the Cherokee Chapter of the AMCA is hosting The
Texas Fandango at the Gillespie County Fairground in Fredericksburg the weekend
of April 1-3. The Texas Fandango is a vintage swap meet, vintage bike show, with
vintage races all rolled into one. Members of the Cherokee Chapter will also be
staying in Kerrville for a few days afterwards and NTNOA members are invited.
The last order of business was the 50/50 drawing which was won by Mike Ross.
The meeting was adjourned but the socializing continued. Our next meeting is at
Audrey Menarik's
Moto Liberty on February 27th.
