There was a good turn out with three of our recent past presidents in attendance. David Edinger rode up in his one-day old Ducati 999. His word of advice is to not take one for a test ride unless you have the room in your garage for another bike.
Dean started the meeting on time with an overview of this year's 20th anniversary Lake O' the Pines Rally. Dennis Tackett gave an update on the Save Our Streamliner Project which is now working seven days a week to make the photo shoot at the International Motorcycle Speed Trials at the Bonneville Salt Flats in early September. It will also be featured at this year's LOP Rally. Dennis confirmed that the Norton powered single engine record breaking streamliner - built by Sam Wheeler will also be at our LOP Rally.
New business included a vote by those members present to authorize the club to spend up to $1,500 to purchase a public address system, two pop-up tents, a large 10 X 20 canopy, banners and a couple of fold up tables. The motion passed unanimously.
Dean mentioned that at the last club Officers Meeting it was decided to keep the annual dues the same at $15 for current active members but starting in January, '05 new members will pay a pro-rated amount based on the quarter of the year they join. Dues for new members will be $30 and will include a club t-shirt yet to be designed by Bob Cox.
Dicky Hunter announced the upcoming events at Tony and Martha's EuroSport Cycle. They are the Track Day at MotorSport Ranch on 9 August, and their Bikini Bike Wash on 14 August.
The meeting was adjourned but everyone stuck around to socialize and drool over David's new ride.
