Our July Club Meeting was at Roscoe's Smokehouse on Sunday, July 29th.
This was Up 'N Smoke BBQ when it was owned & operated by Phil Dansby.

There was a fantastic turn-out for our July meeting.  Roscoe's Smokehouse proved to be an excellent location for our meeting with plenty of cold beverages on tap.

Despite the hot weather many rode to the meeting including two motorcycles ridden that were over 100 years old, Richard Asprey on his 1915 16TT Norton and Jon Neuman on his 1916 Harley Davidson.  Both Richard and Jon will be riding bikes on the Cannonball Endurance Run starting Sept. 6th in Portland, Maine ending in Portland, Oregon on Sept. 23rd.  The event features motorcycles built before 1929.  Yesterday morning Richard,  Keith Martin and Chris Parry rode their Cannonball Norton's for a highly successful test ride of 20 miles.  Check out the Team Norton Prep video by clicking here.

Dennis Tackett handled the MC duties.  The first order of business was the introduction of new members and guests. Five-year membership anniversaries were awarded to Olof Beyer for 10 years and Paul Fielder-White for 15 years of continuous membership. Although not present Adolfo Prieto Rosell has been a member for 5 years.

Saturday afternoon Dennis and Richard rode to Jefferson, TX to met with Diamond Don to finalize the details for this year’s Land O’ the Pines Rallye. The date for the rallye has been changed to Oct. 11th to the 14th. The field events will now be on Saturday morning with the bike show in the afternoon and the awards ceremony later in the evening. The Rolling Concours will be Sunday morning. Our own club member Bobby Vaughn will be selling food during the rallye. Click here for the menu.

Our VP, Ryan Ambrose is looking for help to sell raffle bike tickets at the Southern Throwdown 6, Sept. 30th at the Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum.

It's open to the public and about 300 people typically come to the show. It would be nice if we could get some volunteers and bikes to display. There are usually about 75-80 bikes in the show. Entry fee is $30 per bike. Vendor spots are typically $200 for a 10'x10' space however, it's free for the NTNOA. All spaces are indoors with air conditioning.  For more information or if interested in volunteering email Ryan at ryan@ntnoa.org.

Phil Dansby attended the International Norton Owners Association’s Tall Timber Rally hosted by Northwest Norton Owners, July 16-19 in Elma, Washington. Phil representing the NTNOA was presented with the 2018 Website of the Year award which he presented to yours truly.

The meeting was closed with the 50/50 drawing.  For the first time ever, Dennis Tackett had the winning ticket.
