Sunday, May 26 Meeting at the Back 9
4060 Belt Line Rd, Addison

Our May 2024 meeting was held in conjunction with the annual bike show at the Back 9 Bar and Grill in Addison, TX. Randy Bauer and team organized the bike show, and it was very well attended with 30 motorcycles participating. Even more bikes rolled up which were not in the show, so all told we had around 40 motorcycles and around 50 people attending.

At 2pm, Chris Parry, our club president, led the club business and announcements portion of the meeting.

Chris opened with a big thank you to our hosts at the Back 9 who kept us well fed and refreshed. As it was Memorial Day weekend, Chris asked us to take a moment to remember all the members of the armed forces who have given their lives over the years to defend our nation.

After introducing guests and new members, Chris focused on recent club activities, which included participation in the Dallas Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Paul Martin gave us an overview, and our club had several of the 100 riders (the 100 limit imposed by the City of Dallas).

Chris then looked forward to future events, in particular the 2024, 40th Anniversary LOP Rallye at the Yellow Rose Canyon (same venue as last year). The dates are October 4/5/6. Mark your calendars and plan on bringing your vintage motorcycle to exhibit in the bike show.

We were also reminded about the Bikes and Barbeque event in Keller, TX coming up on Friday June 7. The event will be hosted by Turn 14 Powersports, including our very own James Simonelli. Details on NTNOA.org.

Upcoming rides included Randy Bauer and Mark Dunn who were heading to Colorado the day after the meeting. Also, Chris Parry and Richard Bowman (R2) are heading to India in June to ride with a group in the Himalayas, on Royal Enfield Himalayans of course.

Next, Richard Bowman announced the bike show winners, and Randy Bauer presented the trophies. First place winners received a trophy and five raffle tickets for the 1974 Norton Commando. Runners up received three raffle tickets.
