NTNOA September Meeting – 9/29/24 (Phil Dansby’s house)
Guest – Octavian riding a BMW 1250GS
Great turnout – 30 bikes!!
Recent member rides:
Jeff & Pari traveled to Spain and Portugal and rented motorcycles to
travel through the northwest quadrant of Portugal. They enjoyed the
fact that there was relatively little traffic on the roads they
chose. They rented their bikes through IMT Travel and would highly
recommend this ride.
Zach Gubernator traveled from Dallas through the middle of the
country, visited friends in New Hampshire, and made his way across
the border to Quebec. Riding his 2012 BMW 1100GS, his trip
encompassed a total of 5500 miles. Once back home, he decided to
upgrade his ride and bought a 2018 BMW 1200GS.
The 40th annual LOP rally is to be held this coming weekend, October
4th through the 6th at Yellow Rose Canyon in Mt. Enterprise, TX. We
will be raffling off the 1974 Norton Commando on Saturday evening.
Phil Dansby will not be able to make the rally so please save an LOP
pin for him! There will be alcohol available at the Clubhouse on
property and food will be available through a food truck that will
be just outside the gate to the clubhouse in RV site #68. The food
truck will be serving burritos, tacos, etc. for breakfast, lunch,
and dinner on both Friday and Saturday. Francisco has worked with
Richard Asprey in the past and will be charging a fair price for
food.
Following the weekend rally, 35+ people will be traveling to the
Barber Motorsports Vintage Festival in Birmingham, AL. Richard
Asprey has secured Norton Hill during the rally for NTNOA to occupy
during the festival. There are RV sites on the hill, but they will
be used for entertainment not camping. There will be sufficient
space for members to park their bikes when traveling to the rally.
Norton Hill is located past the paddock and swap meet areas. Thank
you, Richard, for organizing this terrific area for members to enjoy
during the rally!!
Bill Felton is in need of a driver for his truck and trailer as he
will be riding his Norton to the rally at Barber. Please contact him
if this is something you can help with. See the member information
available on the NTNOA website for his contact information.
Richard Asprey told of a Triumph antique club that is operating in
Bermuda. Triumph was limited to 200cc size bikes when allowed onto
the island.
