This year’s event was quite different than last year, as there was not a drop of rain in site. Some of us started early in the week and rode down the long way to arrive
at the "D'Rose Inn and
Cabins" Thursday. We had so many people attend this year we had to move the overflow across the street to Frio Springs Cabins. The gathering however was always at the pavilion at D’Rose.
The Friday dinner was generously provided by Richard Asprey who apparently had a herd of cattle whacked as I had never seen so much meat. There was so much in fact it also feed us Saturday
night. Mr. Asprey being a doting father needed to be in Dallas for his daughters prom, hired an airplane to fly him to Dallas and back for a fifteen minute dance. The main point of the event however is riding
and because of the beautiful weather everybody got all the riding they could stand. I am happy to report our group had no tickets and no crashes.
Overall a wonderful time
was had by all. Next year’s event has been scheduled for April 20,21,22 see you there! Make plans for our Sixth Annual Consecutive Spring Hill Country Ride. The event is for all members of the NTNOA and their guests. It will include rides through
the Texas Hill Country and the traditional club group ride to the
Lone Star Motorcycle Museum on Saturday.
Spring "Hill Country Ride" will be in Leakey, TX. The NTNOA has reserved the entire complex and will have exclusive use of all the facilities at the "D'Rose Inn and
Cabins" in Leakey between 14 - 17 April (Thursday thru Sunday).
There are plenty of restaurants in Leakey so you won't need to bring your own food this year. The D'Rose Inn offers a covered pavilion which can also be used to protect our bikes during inclement
weather, many restaurants within walking distance, a swimming pool, fire pit, a local gas station and grocery store, and cell phone service. Leakey is located in the heart of the hill country with the
"Twisted Sisters" (335, 336 & 337) all right there. The
Lone Star Motorcycle Museum is about 20 miles from the D'Rose Inn.
She has reserved the entire complex for our club. Some cabins can accommodate two, three or four people. The D'Rose Inn is
full. You can call Deb at 830-232-5246 and she will direct you to a nearby hotel/motel. Additional accommodations in Leakey can be found here -
