Our June 2019 Club Meeting & Antique Bike Show was Sunday, June 30th
at Dylan's Barbeque Saloon.
2110 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas
The antique bike show was free and open to all makes and models built prior to 1983. There was a total of 47 bikes in the show. Trophies were awarded to the winners of six categories; Triumph, Norton, BSA, European, Japanese, and American. The judging was done by Dylan, the owner of Dylan's BBQ.
The interest in our June bike show at Dylan's grows each year. The cooler (less hot) weather this year also helped to make this the best attended show at Dylan's. There were 12 Triumphs, 8
Nortons, 6 European, 18 Japanese, 2 American and only 1 BSA motorcycle in the show. By far, the largest category was the Japanese category. A trend that will probably continue.
Dennis Tackett started the meeting with the introduction of new members and quests followed by a summary of upcoming events, most notably our 35th Annual Land O' the Pines Rallye in Jefferson, TX. The rallye
this year will be preceded by an epic ride departing the "Little House" on Friday, Sept. 20th and riding to Mena, AR, then to Eureka Springs, Mountain Home, Hot Springs, and finally on Thursday arriving at
the rallye site in Jefferson.
Dennis announced that this will be his last year as Rallye Chairman. Thankfully Ben D'Avanza volunteered to assume the duties next year.
New Members in June are
Henry Boltuc, and
Megan Roper.
